Annihilation

Personal project: cover for the novel "Annihilation" by Jeff VanderMeer. Watercolor and Photoshop, 2022

This cover was born from a challenge between illustrators I know. Each have to create an illustration based on a horror story, whether it was a novel, series or movie and present it in the form of a poster or book cover.

For the challenge I chose the Annihilation movie (2018) and the book cover format. The process consisted of:

• Search for movie references.

• Search for references in nature.

• Make a series of sketches for the composition of the illustration.

• Choose a color palette.

• Paint and edit it digitally.
